Goapetown - We serve the music

Firstly let me just say that this is my first website build, I've built a forum before but for that i already had the scripting to work with and it required very little editing on my behalf. After mucking around with the forum for some time i decided to spread my wings so to speak.

Eventually i decided to start a site about something that i am rather partial to. My greatest passions are music, life, my love, my home town and my friends. Many of my friends are in bands already or are striving to be in a band. that's where the concept of GAT came from basically...

Now i know there are loads of places that have gig guides up and i know you can promote your own band on some sites but most of those site are large and corporate and they dont really give a shit about individuals. GAT wants to attempt to give a shit about the garage band, we want them to become famous and popular and have kick-ass gigs and all that shit. Thats why GAT is focused on Cape Town.

We are here to give as much help to lesser known bands as we can. By having a small band page on GAT you can get some more hits on search engines. You can have your gigs up there, contact info and all kinds of shit.

I know you can have a Myspace and a facebook profile but search engines rarely search on those sites so your band and event goes unnoticed by anyone thats a member of neither. Thats the niche GAT is hoping to fill...
